important mail - the Mac lipstick I ordered or the cover for my cell phone or my 1099 from the NM Education Retirement Board has had to reach me by a circuitous route. the addresses of the houses I rented for my stays in the US or Italy are temporary so my friend Mary let me use her address. it's a big favor to ask, but Mary came through. she has gathered all the junk mail and the few letters which have some value and given them to me when we get together or she stacks them up when I'm in Italy. such a good friend!
home (presently)
home (sometimes)
staying in a different house each time I'm in Italy or the US means I have no address to give when someone asks where I live or to enter on a form or where to request that a refund check be sent ... will I be here in the four to six weeks that must be allowed for receipt of the check? I did get a couple of pieces of mail at one apartment in Italy and it was really quite thrilling!
do I ever wish for my own numbers, street, city, state, zip code? at times a hearth, husband and cat do have a certain appeal ... ok, those of you who know me know what I think about having a cat so guess you can extrapolate the rest! no, for a while longer I can do without the numbers, street etc I'll just pick up that refund check at Mary's, next time I'm in town!
(in case you missed the fable, it's believed to rub the boar's snout ensures you will return to Florence ... I rub it often)
